Boldly Telling Others About Jesus

One of Jacob Talley's jobs in Indonesia is training Indonesian people to share the gospel. He says it's fun to watch these Indonesian followers of Jesus as they grow and change! Here are stories from two of these people:

Story 1:

I am an Indonesian man. I have always been afraid to share the gospel with a big group of people. Jacob Talley told me it was okay. I took my first trip with Jacob. Jacob told a group of over 35 people about Jesus. I realized that I could share Jesus with a group, too. I told a group of 15 people about Jesus. I took a second trip with Jacob. Jacob once again told a group of around 35 people about Jesus. I shared Jesus with a group of 30 people! I was so excited to boldly tell these people about Jesus.

Story 2:

I am an Indonesian woman. I came to a prayer meeting led by Jacob Talley. We prayed for people here in Indonesia who are part of an unreached people group. This means that less than 2% of the people in these people groups are followers of Jesus. I came to several more prayer meetings. I now realize that God wants me to boldly go and tell people in the unreached people groups (UPGs) of Indonesia about Jesus.

Questions for Discussion:

1. Are you afraid to tell people about Jesus? If you are afraid, what do you think causes you to be afraid?

2. What helped the man in the first story become less afraid to tell groups of people about Jesus?

3. The woman in the second story started out by praying for people who don’t know about Jesus. When was the last time you prayed for someone who doesn’t know about Jesus?

4. What does the woman want to do now? Why do you think she wants to do more than pray?

5. Do you want to do more than pray for people who don’t know about Jesus? What do you think God wants you to do?
