Mission: Hit the Road - Children's Missions

Mission: Hit the Road

As children are introduced to missional concepts, they learn they have an active part to play in God’s plan for their lives and for the world. They come to understand God can use them now—even in their youth—to share His love with others and make a difference. Experiences gained through childhood missions education lead to a lifelong commitment of service to God, His mission, and His church.

Girls in Action for girls, Royal Ambassadors for boys, and Children in Action for coed groups, are ongoing missions discipleship organizations for children in grades 1–6.

Through these organizations, children . . .

  • read and understand accounts from the Bible of God’s love for all people and His plan for saving them.
  • experience prayer as an active, vital part of supporting God’s mission.
  • discover that giving to missions supports God’s mission while teaching the proper role of financial resources in a Christian’s life.
  • impact God’s mission as they actively share their faith with others through missions projects and activities.

What is Mission: Hit the Road?

“To those who are weak I became weak. That was to win the weak. I have become all things to all people. I have done this so that in all possible ways I might save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22 NIrV).

Mission: Hit the Road is the 2017–2018 theme for Girls in Action, Royal Ambassadors, and Children in Action. Through this year’s theme and materials, children will be challenged to “hit the road” for missions to share the good news of God’s love with everyone they meet on their paths—whether it’s down the street, around the community, or throughout the world! As children encounter friends and community members who do not have a personal relationship with Christ, they can share what God means in their own lives.

Plan now with the Mission: Hit the Road Promotion Pack. This kit includes enhancement activities and posters to kick the year off right. The pack also includes Children’s Missions Day 2018 ideas that will help engage children in a missions project in your own community.
