God’s love is expressed for us in so many ways. His love is deeper than we can fully know. God is love. What He does cannot be separated from Who He is.

But what about us? Has God’s love penetrated our hearts so deeply that it flows naturally out of every word? Every action? Perhaps focusing on God’s love to a greater extent will help us see ourselves in a different light and naturally affect everything we say and do. How can we be vessels of God’s love this month?

As we are filled with God’s love, we love others because He first loved us (1 John 4:19 NIV).

Paul shares in Colossians that because of the work of the gospel in our lives, we grow in love. And for those who love God, this sacred mystery is now as clear as daylight. “So, naturally, we proclaim Christ! We warn everyone we meet, and we teach everyone we can. . . . This is what I am working at all the time, with all the strength that God gives me” (Col. 1:28–29 Phillips).

God’s love flowing through helps us to grow in love with others and produces clear evangelism—always.

This world has a deficit when it comes to love. We are “love” hungry. Many of us can think of times when we have not felt loved by others. God’s love stands ready to fill in the gaps. And we can be carriers of His love that knows no bounds, forgives all our sins, and sees us for who He made us to be as we respond to Him in faith. What a privilege to be changed forever by this special kind of eternal love and what a privilege to carry this love to the world.

May this month bring us all opportunities to love.
