5 Questions to Start a New Year of Missions

Welcome to a new church year and a new year for your adult missions group! Just as January 1 brings the feeling of a fresh start, the beginning of a new church year can be a great time to give a fresh start to your group.

Here are some questions to get your leadership thinking about how you can grow this year:

  1. What projects worked well last year? Could these be ongoing projects that carry into the new year?
  2. What didn’t work well? Make a list of the challenges you had, and brainstorm how these could be improved.
  3. What new leadership could you cultivate this year? Who could you mentor as a future missions leader?
  4. What new ministries should you include this year? Would a new group serve to facilitate these ministries?
  5. How could you seek out new members and invite them into your existing missions group?

Every organization has room for growth and improvement. Prayerfully consider how God is leading you and your group this year.
