Seek to Bring Christ Glory

For him. Those two little words in the emphasis verse make the biggest difference in our unshakable pursuit of God. Read the verse and focus on those two words in the last phrase: My dear friends, stand firm and don’t be shaken. Always keep busy working for the Lord. You know that everything you do for him is worthwhile. (1 Cor. 15:58, CEV)

The words for him indicate a selflessness in the things you do. The emphasis verse makes it clear that it is not just anything and everything you do that is worthwhile, but the things you do for him. We will take on the same attitude Christ had in humility, compassion, and a servant heart. In Philippians 2:5-8, Paul tells about Jesus’ attitude in which He took on the very nature of a servant, humbled Himself, and became obedient to God.

In order to have the same attitude as Christ, steadfastly pursue Him and ask for His transforming work in your life. Serve others out of compassion and a servant heart. Seek to bring Christ glory through the things you do for Him.

Pray: Father, forgive me for trying to do things in my own strength and for my own glory. Give me the heart of Christ in humility and compassion as I serve others. As I continue to pursue You in my life, may the things I do be increasingly for You. In Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
