Thank You!

Have you ever saved an empty paper-towel tube from your workplace, or asked others to save empty paper-towel tubes for you? Can you carry on a complete conversation about the characters in the latest animated children’s movie? Do you keep liquid starch with your preschool art supplies instead of your laundry supplies? Do you save even the smallest scraps of paper or ribbon for your collage box? Have you ever melted stray crayon pieces together to make chunky crayons? Do you find yourself cleaning out your empty yogurt cups because you can use them as paint containers? Do you use your muffin tins, not for making muffins, but as a great sorting tray for preschoolers?

All of these and a million more are things you do because you are a Mission Friends® teacher. The week of May 4–8 is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we want to thank you for all the big and little things you do in teaching preschoolers. Thank you for going the extra mile so your preschoolers will have great missions learning experiences in Mission Friends. Thank you for your preparation during the week, getting to church early to set up, and staying late when a preschooler’s parent is delayed in picking him up.

Thank you for being excited about missions and teaching preschoolers in fun ways. Your preschoolers catch your excitement and have fun as they learn. You set the tone for your Mission Friends classroom, and preschoolers can tell if you enjoy being with them. Thank you for the impact you are making on their lives as preschoolers see Christ in you.

Preschool teachers do not always receive recognition for serving week-by-week with preschoolers. This week during Teacher Appreciation Week, we applaud you for giving of yourself in teaching Mission Friends. Thank you, not just for providing paint and muffin tins, but for giving love and care to preschoolers as you teach. May God give you many blessings as you lead preschoolers to know His love.

“As for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded” (2 Chron. 15:7).
