Update on the Woolstenhulmes

Woolstenhulme Family

Jeff and Tessa Woolstenhulme have added a new member to their family! Join us in thanking the Lord for their wonderful 4-month-old son, Nate.

Jeff reports that he and Tessa are persevering in their ministry. He says that their primary prayer request is that students will begin building community within their ministry. Students often attend ministry events, but they socialize elsewhere with other friend groups. Jeff says that he would love to see the college students building strong relationships within the ministry so that they can all grow together. Jeff says that seeing a community that enjoys being together is a power testament to the gospel. This is a reminder of Jesus’ statement, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:13 NIV1).

Ways to Pray for Campus Ministries

This month, as you study the Woolstenhulmes’ ministry at Riverside, consider ways that you can pray for campus ministries in your area. Ask God to guide you in praying for your local schools. Use this prayer list as an idea generator:

  1. Thank God for His presence on college campuses. Ask Him to make Himself known among the students.

  2. Ask God to help campus ministries develop relationships with international students who may be homesick and lonely.

  3. Ask Him to give comfort and strength to Christian students whose beliefs are challenged. Ask the Holy Spirit to give them wisdom and discernment.

  4. Pray that believers will boldly share the gospel with those who don’t believe. Pray that Christ-following students will be strengthened to be salt and light on their campus.

  5. Ask God to soften the hearts and minds of those who are hardened to His message of hope.

  6. Pray that campus ministries would be faithful to proclaim God’s word. Ask Him to help them speak the truth in love.

  7. Pray for unity among campus ministries so that those who don’t believe will learn that God’s family is a diverse family united in the bond of love.

  8. Pray that campus ministries would bring love and hope not only to students, but that they would bring Christ’s light and love to their campus’s staff members.

  9. Pray that God would use the ministry to bring peace and unity to the college. Pray for racial and social unity and a safe atmosphere.
