Who Will Eat These Cookies?

Bill and I are retired empty nesters, and we’ve downsized several times; the latest to a neighborhood of young families who are constantly on the go.

“How are we going to connect beyond a wave as they drive by?” we prayed. The Christmas cookie swap at church was our answer.

We hosted a Christmas open house the afternoon after the cookie swap. Hot apple cider and a variety of already baked cookies was easy and quick. Our young neighbors seemed hungry for connection and the afternoon ended with plans for a summer cookout.

I’m scanning the WMU Pinterest page now for other connection ideas. Check it out and then meet your neighbors.
