Developing into Great Leaders: Online Learning

Have you ever attended a seminar or training session and thought, “This would have been so much better if I could have stayed in my pajamas”?

The Children’s Resource Team is assembling online training sessions that will allow you to learn more about being a leader from the comfort of your own home. And yes, you have our permission to stay in your pj’s!

Here’s an overview of what’s out there so far:

Leading Girls in Action: Participants will look at the very basics of the Girls in Action organization, including the curriculum and the pledge. You will also be challenged to teach a lesson to a small group of children to experience what it’s like to plan and deliver missions discipleship.

Leading Children in Action: Participants will take a look at the very basics of Children in Action, including the curriculum. You will have the opportunity to teach a CA lesson to a small group of children to experience what it’s like to plan and deliver missions discipleship.

How Children Learn: Participants will experience a variety of interactive learning activities that introduce leaders to typical life stages and learning styles of children, as well as teach leaders how to lead children to live missionally in each of the stages. You will have opportunities to apply what you are learning to your CA, GA, or RA group for a confident start.

Uniquely Designed: Children: Participants will exprerience a variety of interactive learning activities that introduce leaders to the stages of childhood development and teach leaders how to lead children to live missionally in each of the stages. You will also practice adjusting missions lessons from the curriculum to meet the needs of children in your CA, GA, or RA organization.

Coming soon:

Beyond the Basics: Girls in Action: Participants will find out more about badges, missions projects, encouraging girls to share their testimony, and the difference between ministry and missions projects. Leaders will put what they’ve learned into practice as they develop their own missions project they can implement this year.

Leading Royal Ambassadors: This course offers a variety of interactive learning activities that will introduce you to the basic information needed to lead RA. You will have opportunities to apply what you are learning to your RA chapter in your church setting to help you get started with confidence.

We are working to ensure that no matter where you are or what your schedule might be, you can access training that will support you as a children’s missions leader. An even bigger bonus is that other teams in our building are working on training courses as well! See the complete listing of what is available currently: wmu.com/develop.

And if you do decide to attend online training in your pj’s, no one will ever know!
