WMU Emphasis for 2010–2012: Unhindered!

We call all Christ followers to RISE UP and to throw off those things that hinder us.

The core of Unhindered! is deep and complex. What would it mean for each of us to put aside whatever it is that keeps us from being all God wants us to be?

As Christ followers these are the things we will do together during 2010–2012: 
•We will commit to pray for God’s Spirit to be unleashed in the world. 
•We will commit to be leaders of influence with uncompromised integrity. 
•We will commit to be courageous in our calling and engaged in our culture. 
•We will commit to be passionate about God as we step out and take risks together.

Our biblical focus will take us to Hebrews 12:1–2 (NIV): “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Our emphasis book for 2010–2011 reflects the emphasis theme. Written by Jennifer Kennedy Dean, Life Unhindered! Five Keys to Walking in Freedom focuses on God’s platform, provision, power, presence, and promise. The book can be used: 
• For a study lasting several weeks or even a weekend retreat.
