WMU Library
The Hunt Library is the corporate library at National WMU headquarters and is named for former executive secretary Alma Hunt. Our collection of 15,000 volumes specializes in the history of Woman's Missionary Union, Southern Baptist history, missions, and women's religious history. The library houses WMU published materials, books related to Christian life, women's issues, social issues, missionary biographies, mission action, and missions theology. While our library is open to the general public for research, most of our materials are not available for loan. We will make photocopies or provide in electronic form, if possible. We are happy to host researchers on site by appointment only.
Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., and Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
The Archives is open each week on a part-time basis. Researchers must schedule an appointment with the archivist to use archival collections.
The Hunt Library and Archives of WMU, SBC is located at the WMU National Headquarters building in Birmingham, Alabama. For driving directions to WMU and local hotel information, please follow the link to contact us.
