Leadership Connections

Marjorie Jones McCullough

Marjorie Jones McCullough served as president of WMU, SBC, from 1986 to 1991. She spent eight years as a foreign missionary directing WMU work in Ghana, and later five years doing missionary work in Brazil.

Mrs. McCullough became the general director of Girls' Auxiliary for national WMU, helping to create and name Acteens and Girls in Action organizations, and writing the manual and handbook for Acteens. In 1980 she was elected president of the Tennessee WMU, and in 1984 served as acting executive director for Tennessee WMU until a permanent one was selected.

(Mrs. McCullough went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2006; leaving a legacy of missions service and leadership spanning over 70 years. For more information, see http://www.bpnews.net/bpnews.asp?ID=22934.)
