Minnie Kennedy James

Minnie Kennedy James served as president of WMU from 1916 to 1925. Fannie E. S. Heck put her in the limelight in 1910 at the WMU Annual Meeting enlisting her to lead a conference on foreign missions and read extracts from missionary letters; later asking her to chair the committee to plan WMU's 25th anniversary.

She wrote the official Union guide to parliamentary procedure which was reprinted for many years in the WMU Year Books. She also helped form the Cooperative Program of denominational finance, a task she later called her greatest accomplishment.
